MARC Foundation's Chemical Dependency Crisis Center

After working as an engineer for many years, Shreenivas Shah transitioned to becoming a business executive in 1985, when he was appointed as the director of operations and finance at Hasbro, Inc. Since 1998, he has served as the president of BabyVision, Inc., a company based in Poughkeepsie, New York. Outside of his professional obligations, Shreenivas Shah is an active supporter of several nonprofit organizations, including the Mid-Hudson Addiction Recovery Centers, Inc. (MARC).

Begun in 1997, MARC is dedicated promoting the recovery of people with addictions through a full range of residential, sober-supported programs. To support its mission, the organization has built several facilities, among them the Chemical Dependency Crisis Center.

Located in Poughkeepsie, the Chemical Dependency Crisis Center is licensed by the Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS). The center’s specially designed programs include in-patient detoxification, group recovery meetings, and nutrition lectures, to name a few. The co-ed facility can serve up to 12 patients at a time. The average patient stay ranges from one week to 12 days.
